Airlines are slashing prices on flights between the UK and Spain to attract passengers during the less busy autumn and winter seasons. Major carriers like Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, Vueling, Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Europa have introduced promotional fares, with some one-way tickets starting as low as £14.99 or €16. Ryanair, for example, is offering flights in September and October from £14.99 on routes from London to destinations such as Castellon, Barcelona, and Valencia. As the year progresses into November and December, fares begin at about £19.99.
EasyJet is participating in the fare competition with a sale that includes more than 780,000 discounted seats. Selected routes are available with up to 20% off, including flights from Gatwick to Alicante, Bristol to Malaga, and Luton to Barcelona starting at £18.99. Some October flights to Palma can be found from £15.99. Meanwhile, Wizz Air is expanding its operations in Spain by establishing new bases in Valencia and Madrid this November, which will heighten the competition with Ryanair.
Spanish airlines are also entering the price war. Vueling is offering discounts of up to 20% on 110,000 seats, with international fares beginning at €16. Iberia’s offers include domestic flights from €24 and selected European destinations from €29. Air Europa is celebrating its anniversary with a sale that features fares starting at €25.
The primary goal of these discounts is to stimulate demand after the bustling summer travel season. However, travelers should be aware that the lowest fares typically include only a small under-seat bag. Additional costs apply for seat selection, cabin luggage, and checked bags.
Travel experts suggest that customers can find even better deals by comparing airlines on flexible midweek dates, particularly in the months of October, November, and January, when prices generally drop compared to peak holiday times.
